Arthur Heurtley House
The Heurtley House (1902), located at 318 Forest Avenue in Oak Park, Illinois is the one home in Oak Park I'm really hoping will be on a future year's Wright Plus Tour. I thought it was supposed to be this year, but I was either mistaken or it got removed. The color of the exterior's roman bands of brick is the main reason I like this house more than the others in Oak Park.
Harry S. Adams House
The Adams House was not on the Wright 2012 tour, but it is a house I would have liked to have been included. It appears there is a planter missing in front by the carport. Built in 1913, this house is located at 710 Augusta Boulevard, Oak Park, IL.

Balch House Wright Plus 2012
My favorite house of the Wright Plus 2012 tour was the Balch House (611 N. Kenilworth Avenue, Oak Park, IL). Some might not be a fan of updating Wright homes with additions and/or modern-day amenities, but the owners of this house did so in such a way it blended with the original plans well. They added a kitchen/family room to the home's northwest corner (not shown in the photos).
Notice the flat roof that became such an important part of Wright's designs following the Prairie years. The rooftop trellis grille casts ever-changin shadows upon the walls of the home.

We didn't tour the Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio, that'll be for another trip when we have more time. But, we did take a stroll and get a few photos of his other designs.

Unity Temple Part I
We drove in the rain, parked our car in front of the Unity Temple in Oak Park, Illinois, and the sun started shining! Disappointed we'd missed the 9:00 a.m. service, we noticed there were still people there and peeked our head in. To our delight, they invited us in and allowed us to have a look around as long as we were discreet with our cameras, which we were of course. What a great day!
